They spent time together, sharing joys and struggles, enjoying each other's presence. They took care of each other like an extended family with all that that can mean. They trusted God to provide for them. They trusted each other to do what was right. They were happy, sincere and appreciated by those in their community. Their faith touched every aspect of their life and living. Their love for Jesus was contagious. Their awe at how God was working among them, inspired them. For them, God was alive. Outsiders were interested and intrigued. Such is the picture of the church of Jesus Christ at the closing of the second chapter of the book of the Acts of the Apostles in the Bible. And we have to at least wonder, who would not want to be a part of such a vibrant and caring group of people? At St. Andrew's & St. James Presbyterian Church, Cardinal, Ontario, we are working together to rediscover the Spirit of the Living God in our midst, that Christ might be real to us and to all we meet day by day. It is at time a challenge, at times a struggle, at times overwhelming, but always exciting. We welcome you to join in this grand adventure of faith and life. By web, by worship, by prayer and questions and curiosity and struggle, come. And in the process may you, may we, meet God in a new way. Pastor Geoff Howard |
